Dr. Rikson Zollinger grew up in North Dakota and later received a B.S. degree in Exercise Science and Physiology from Brigham Young University in Utah. He continued his education at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis Tennessee and received his Doctor of Optometry degree. After graduation he practiced primary care optometry in ND. In 2015, he then moved to Yakima, WA to practice with Washington Vision Therapy Center, a clinic that specializes in vision therapy. He then moved to Spokane in 2017 to open up our Spokane’s clinic and is excited to serve the Spokane and surrounding communities.
In addition to his time in Yakima at the vision therapy clinic, Dr. Zollinger has obtained over 200 hours of continuing education in neuro-visual rehabilitation for diagnosing and treating common conditions such as amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (eye turn), vision problems from concussions and traumatic brain injuries, and binocular vision problems that can cause reading problems or symptoms like headaches, blurry vision, eye fatigue, eye strain, etc with reading or near work. Dr. Zollinger is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Optometric Physicians of Washington, Spokane Regional Inland Optometric Society, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.
Dr. Zollinger speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys spending most of his time with his wife and four children – and if he has a free minute, you might find him playing racquetball (where he competed nationally at the collegiate level), golf, hunting or fishing, or possibly working on a home improvement project at their home in Spokane Valley.
