Dr Randall’s education started in Utah, after serving a 2 year mission for his church where he became fluent in Spanish. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from BYU, he spent 4 years in Memphis, TN at the Southern College of Optometry. His first 5 years of experience were in a private practice treating general optometry conditions. He then made a move to specialize in Vision Therapy, which he has been practicing since 2016. He enjoys the binocular vision and pediatric aspect of Optometry immensely. In 2018 he achieved Fellowship and became Board Certified in vision development, vision therapy, and vision rehabilitation.
As an eye doctor, Dr Randall feels each patient brings their own set of vision needs, and so he strives to make sure each gets the care they need to leave our office with improved vision, not just eyesight. He especially enjoys the curiosity, enthusiasm and energy children bring to our office, which is why he has chosen to focus on serving their unique vision needs as a pediatric specialist.
Dr Randall’s life at home includes six amazing children, and a wonderful wife who spends her time homeschooling them. As a family, they enjoy discussing books, religious beliefs, and the world around us. As a family they also love playing games together and occasional movies on the weekend, both with popcorn. They also enjoy camping in the summer, and visiting family in Utah.
Washington Vision Therapy Center is the creation of two local optometrists who have a passion for giving children the ability to succeed. The practice welcomed its first patients in March of 2010 and continues to grow as more and more people discover how Vision Therapy can help individuals meet their full potential.
We treat a variety of patients. While our emphasis is in treating children with vision problems that can affect learning and academic performance (go to the Vision Education Center for more information on these vision problems and vision therapy), we also treat vision problems that can result from acquired brain injury, developmental delays, and vertigo. Vision problems have also been shown to mimick or complicate ADHD and dyslexia.
We can also treat patients of any age with eye turns (Strabismus) and lazy eyes (Amblyopia). Many times vision therapy can treat patients who thought that their only option was surgery or long hours of patching.
Washington Vision Therapy Center is excited to continue to reach out to the community. Educators and other professionals interested in the impact vision problems can have on learning are encouraged to visit our Vision Education Center as well as schedule our doctors to come speak to your group.
