“I’m pleased and thankful”
My son had had vision problems since he was young, I believe since infancy, but he was always told his vision and his eyes were good. It wasn’t until about kindergarten we were told that he needed glasses. But even with glasses, it always seemed he struggled to see. I noticed he seemed clumsy at times, and he struggled with his homework. I dreaded helping him with his homework because it took about an hour or longer for him to finish it and there were sometimes tears of frustration. He hated homework and reading. I noticed he rubbed his eyes a lot, and would often get headaches. His penmanship was not very good either. I had never heard of vision therapy before coming to Washington Vision Therapy Center. I was intrigued and wanted to know more about it.
My son started vision therapy in October 2012, and graduated in July 2013. I’ve noticed he’s not as clumsy as he used to be. He still doesn’t like homework, but it’s easier and takes less time to finish it. His writing has improved too, it’s more legible. He’s also playing sports: so far football and basketball and he wants to play baseball. He never had an interest before for playing sports, but I’m glad he’s participating and having fun. He enjoyed going to the center for his weekly appointments with his therapist James. I’m pleased and thankful to Dr. Winters and the staff at WAVTC for helping my son and all of the other clients they have helped through vision therapy.
