“We saw many improvements in tasks that were very difficult for her before vision therapy”
Over the last nine months as our daughter went through vision therapy, we saw many improvements in tasks that were very difficult for her before vision therapy. Before vision therapy, school work was extremely fatiguing for her. She came home from kindergarten with dark circles under her eyes and was fatigued almost every day. She was rarely able to finish copying a sentence down from the board, and reading and writing were extremely challenging. We didn’t realize that the letters and words were blurry to her or moved around on her, and she didn’t realize that other people could see differently than she could. All visually related work at school was a challenge and drained her energy quickly.
Since vision therapy, her balance and coordination have increased, making sports and physical games more fun. She also doesn’t run into furniture or other objects as much. School work has also gotten easier. Reading and focusing are much easier now, and the amount of time she can visually focus on people and reading has increased. Drawing has also gotten easier and her drawings have gotten much more complex. She is also more confident now. Our daughter enjoyed working with Carrie each week at the Washington Vision Therapy Center. Dr. Winters, Carrie, and all of the rest of the staff have always been nice, professional, and helpful.
