Kasen’s Success Story
“When I started therapy, there was a lot of changes in my life like going to a new school and having Friday’s off. When I was younger, I didn’t notice my lazy eye because I was used to it. At first, I didn’t believe I had a lazy eye, but Dr. Winters told me that I did and that this could be the reason for my migraines. Every night after school my head would hurt so bad that I would come home and lay in my mom’s bed with the lights off. At first, I didn’t really like therapy, but Beth made it fun. After doing Vision Therapy I started to notice I was not having headaches anymore. I would love to leave everybody these words, ‘if something breaks just get up and fix it.’”
At Washington Vision Therapy Center, we treat a variety of common eye conditions including Amblyopia (also known as Lazy Eye). There are three types of amblyopia: Deprivation Amblyopia, Strabismic Amblyopia, and Refractive Amblyopia. As the leading cause of vision loss in children, Amblyopia is serious and treatment to correct it should begin as early as possible.
In vision therapy, we use the latest in 3D technology and a variety of activities specially designed to help train the eyes to work together, thus improving the vision of the poorer-seeing eye and improving depth perception. This approach has shown to be more long-lasting than patching alone and has the benefit of helping patients navigate their surroundings safer and more comfortably.
The vision professionals at Washington Vision Therapy Center can diagnose and effectively treat Amblyopia and other eye conditions safely and efficiently. Our staff can answer all of your questions concerning Amblyopia and offer treatment plans capable of improving your vision and reducing your discomfort.
